Health Program

Looking at the COVID 19 pandemic in the country, the organisation initially started to create awareness among the rural community. They gave awareness on do’s and don’ts of COVID 19 and encouraged the community to not panic in the situation. Since the schools were completely closed down, the organisation took initiative to give support to Class 10th Standard students both online and offline so that they are in touch with their syllabus. It supported 25 to 30 students. The organisation also provided 1500 ration kits to poorest of the poor families. It collaborated with organisations such as GOONJ. SeSTA supported with 100 ration kits for distribution. From January 2022 to June 2022, AsHA worked in collaboration with Tulshibil Primary Health Centre under the Gossaigaon Development Block for COVID 19 awareness, door to door survey and mobilising community for vaccination and organising vaccination camp. The project was supported by Azim Premji Foundation, Bangaluru targeting 30,000 individuals as the District data shows the intervened area to the least vaccinated.

The Menstrual Health and Hygiene Program, AsHA organization represents a crucial initiative aimed at addressing menstrual health challenges and dispelling myths surrounding menstruation. This program targets 3000 women residing in the Kokrajhar district, with a particular focus on girls and women aged 13 to 49 years. Through a series of targeted interventions, the program endeavors to raise awareness about menstrual health and hygiene, thereby promoting better health outcomes and empowering women with knowledge and resources to manage their menstrual cycles effectively.
